Drácula

In 1991, at the Luna Park theater in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the iconic musical “Dracula” premiered, written and directed by Pepe Cibrian, and composed by the notes of the maestro Ángel Mahler. Two outstanding Argentine artists, who are considered representatives of musical theater in the country.

Nearly two decades later, in 2017, “Dracula” finally bids farewell to the stage and as a tribute to these two talents, Caras magazine invites me, along with other painters, to envision and interpret our own Dracula.

On my canvas, a white background unveils a Dracula in bold black, alongside a goat gazing at him fearfully. A blood red symbolizes/embodies the obvious, while a fluorescent yellow questions: Was I supposed to follow a pattern?

This painting is made in oil and acrylics on canvas.
