Rapero Dog

A few years ago, while I was managing a fashion magazine, I had the honor of meeting and collaborating with several artists in the fashion field. One of them was Chino Zavalia, a renowned Argentine photographer. Chino was bohemian, volatile and fun. During the productions, he used to walk around with his dog Chango, a Komondor with an appearance as peculiar as his owner. Chango looked more like a mop than a dog, his thick dreadlocks barely concealed his 60 kilos.

There was one occasion when I saw Chango and I could help but to ask Chino, “Don’t you think you should bathe him?” And his reply was, “No, he is a Rapper Dog.”

Ever since, on my canvas, there only exists Rapper Dog.

This painting is made of acrylic and fibers on canvas.
