Is a contemporary Argentine artist born in 1975 and based in Buenos Aires. Her passion for art and painting emerged at an early age, influenced by an aunt. Since then, her love for art has continuously evolved, exploring new forms and movements. Her neo-expressionist style is evident in her large scale and vibrant works, where eccentric shapes emerge and vivid colors create contrasting expressions that reflect her subconscious imagination.

Lavera has made a name for herself in the art world, showcasing her exhibitions in Argentina, Italy, and the United States. In the U.S., she has exhibited in cities such as Miami, New York, Los Angeles, and the Hamptons. Lavera’s work is also featured in private collections around the globe, as well as in personal homes.
Her rise to prominence began when Greg Schriefer and Clive Davis discovered her art during a trip to Buenos Aires. Both were struck by her artistic technique and the strength of the message behind her work. Greg, particularly captivated, decided to take it a step further and became her career manager.

“When I saw Lavera’s work I inmediately sensed she was the one… a second-generation neo-expressionist, with a femenine latin twist, who could pick up where basquiat left off and take it higher maybe much higher
I love the stories behind her work!”

“At the intersection of spontaneous gesture and a free figuration, Fernanda Lavera’s paintings take shape.
Her work pays homage to the aesthetics pioneered by CoBra group, and revived in recent years by German neo expressionism and graffiti artists such as J. M. Basquiat. This style is characterized by bursts of colors, a fear of empty spaces, narrative with archetypal characters, dynamic space, nods to comic art and design, and the inclusion of words and phrases.
With a festive and explosive visual language, Lavera proves herself to be a critical observer of, and deeply concerned with, the pressing issues of contemporary society”

“The life story of Fernanda Lavera is a curious mix of assimilating early opportunities and influences that have shaped an exciting professional career and prompted her to develop a distinctive and dynamic perceptible style.
As a dedicated painter with an ingeniously coded abstract visual message Fernanda carries a distinguished badge of courage and responsibility as a communicator for social justice as well following an honored tradition of artists who know that “every picture tells a story.”
